A normal amount of candida is healthy as the candida yeast eliminates harmful bacteria in the body. However, if abnormal levels of candida are allowed to accumulate due to a weakened immune system or the lowering of other helpful bacteria in your body after a poor diet or a course of antibiotics, then the candida yeast can become invasive.
The body’s attempt to destroy the excess yeast can result in the eruption of sores in the mucous membranes, especially in the mouth, lips, and genital areas. Besides being painful and itchy, these sores discharge toxins, which if occurring in the digestive tract can cause bloating, constipation, food intolerances, and allergies.
